James Corden being groomed for Hollywood stardom

Wednesday February 15, 2012

James Corden is being lined up for stardom in the US, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror said that US movie mogul Harvey Weinstein wants to work with the funnyman after spotting him on stage in the West End play One Man Two Guvnors.

Over a breakfast meeting and a later toast with a glass of bubbly, Harvey is said to have outlined two comedy movies which Gavin And Stacey star James could be cast in.

A movie insider was quoted as saying: "Harvey saw James in his stage show. He is a huge fan of his and has wanted to work with James for some time.

"He has two projects in mind, both of which he outlined during the meeting."

The multi-millionaire producer will see the reaction James gets when his play goes to Broadway in April "before committing pen to paper", the source added.

James already has his foot in the door, having appeared in two Hollywood productions. The comedian featured as a minor character in How To Lose Friends And Alienate People with fellow British actor Simon Pegg.

And more recently he acted alongside Billy Connolly and Jack Black in Gulliver's Travels.
