Rower James Cracknell feels 'useless' after accident

Tuesday March 15, 2011

He was left on the brink of death following a horrific road accident last year.

And Olympic rower James Cracknell has spoken recently about the long-term effects of the accident that almost killed him.

The 38-year-old's head injury has left him with short-term memory loss.

He has also been advised not to be alone with his children in case he leaves something dangerous lying around.

James - who is father to Croyde, seven, and two-year-old Kiki with wife Beverley Turner - said to the Radio Times: "I feel a bit useless. I can't help out."

He added: "I regret that the injury has had such an impact on everyone.

"Bev and I talk about nothing else, which takes the fun out of our relationship. That must be hard for her."

The couple have been together for ten years and are expecting their third child in a few weeks.
