She has a reputation for being one cool lady, so no surprise then that when Helen Mirren discovered a production bearing her name was showcasing at the Brighton Fringe Festival, she sent an elegant acknowledgement.
What Would Helen Mirren Do? is the title of a one-woman play by award-winning playwright Josie Melia about an Oldham supermarket checkout worker who's life is transformed once she starts to see life through the glamorous screen vet's eyes.
After the show's existence came to her attention Helen swiftly dispatched a case of champers accomapnied by a note which read: “The very best of luck with the play. I found out about it accidentally. I'm honoured and I hope you have a good time. Helen M.”
