'Professional help' for Charlie Sheen's ex

Wednesday June 16, 2010

Charlie Sheen and estranged wife Brooke Mueller have signed divorce papers, ending their two-year marriage, despite previous reports that they were fighting to save their union.

Under the terms of their agreement the actress is thought to be receiving $55,000 a month in child support for their one-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max.

The move came as Brooke, who has previously battled substance abuse, checked into a treatment facility for 30 days.

"What we are really talking about here is not rehab. That is a term we are painfully familiar with," said her representative Elliot Mintz. "Brooke is receiving professional help in the area of stress management.

"She recognized that it would be in her best interest to deal with personal issues involving stress that have the potential of challenging her sobriety."
