Nick Cannon quits radio show after lung problems

Friday February 17, 2012

Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey’s husband, has quit his radio show after finding out about blood clots on his lungs.

"Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to cut back on some of my professional commitments to allow my body to get the rest it needs... Even Superman has to sleep!" he said in a statement.

The  31-year-old hosts another radio show, Cannon’s Countdown, and is also the America’s Got Talent host - a workload his body just can’t handle.

Nick commented: “I was actually trying to downplay it a lot - even in my own mind.

"I was having a lot of pain in my back and I thought it was the typical kidney pain that I had been experiencing, but I thought it had been a little bit heightened”

The star had to be treated for two blood clots on his lungs and an enlarged ventricle in his heart because antibodies started attacking his organs and weakened his body even more.

Nick previously suffered mild kidney failure earlier this year.
