Winona Ryder accuses Mel Gibson of anti-Semitic slur

Friday December 17, 2010

Winona Ryder has claimed that Mel Gibson made homophobic and anti-Semetic remarks during a party 15 years ago.

In an interview with GQ magazine, the 39-year-old actress said the Braveheart star made offensive comments to her while intoxicated at a "big Hollywood party".

Winona, who was born Winona Horowitz, is half Jewish and has previously revealed that many of her relatives died in the Holocaust.

A spokesman for Mel has refused to comment.

The actor's reputation has suffered over the last few years.

Earlier this year he was accused of making a series of abusive phone messages to his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

And in 2006 he was alleged to have made a foul-mouthed tirade when police officers arrested him for drink driving in California.
