Serena Williams training to be a nail technician

Friday February 19, 2010

Despite being the world's top female tennis champ, it seems Serena Williams is looking to expand her portfolio.

The sporty star is training to become a nail technician, she has revealed.

“No one likes getting their nails done more than I do. As a matter of fact I go every four days to get a manicure and every seven days for a pedicure," Serena says.

"So, I had a brilliant idea to get certified to be a nail tech.”

Winner of 12 grand slam titles, Serena has signed up to the Palm Beach Nail School in Florida, and will pay £35 per year to renew her technician's licence.

"Don't be surprised if you hear about a part-time job I've picked up at a local salon," says the tennis star, who has earned over £19 million in her career so far.
