Kate sees double at the National Portrait Gallery

Thursday July 19, 2012

Coming face to face with a portrait of herself, the Duchess of Cambridge reacts with surprise.

In her capacity as patron of the National Portrait Gallery, Kate was viewing Road to 2012: Aiming High, about preparations for the Olympics.

The picture was taken when the Duchess, who is also an ambassador for the Games, joined a Team GB hockey training session.

Kate wore a ?515 dress by Stella McCartney, the official designer of the national team kit.

She accessorised with a gold necklace, featuring hoops in another reference to the Olympics.

Next week, the athletic royal is likely to be at the spectacular opening ceremony along with Princes William and Harry.

Like Kate, her husband and brother-in-law are also London 2012 ambassadors.
