Kate celebrates engagement with Clarence House party

Friday November 19, 2010

Bride-to-be Kate Middleton has reportedly celebrated her engagement to Prince William by holding a dinner party at Clarence House.

With her fiancé now back in Wales, the 28-year-old brunette and around 12 girlfriends held Kate's first unofficial hen do, which went on to the early hours, the Daily Mirror reports.

Sources also told the newspaper that Kate has "practically moved in" to the London residence – also home to Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall - since Tuesday's announcement.

The date and venue for the wedding are expected to be announced on Friday.

William is said to favour a date in April or May, and the couple are expected to name Westminster Abbey as the location for their nuptials.

The emblematic church hosted the weddings of the Queen and the Queen Mother, and also the funeral of William's mother Diana.

On Thursday, Kate travelled to her parents' home in Bucklebury, Berkshire to discuss wedding plans.
