Sex And The City actress Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken for the first time about her decision to use a surrogate mother to have more children with her husband Matthew Broderick. The 44-year-old says the couple turned to the method out of necessity.
"We have been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so," the star told US TV show Access Hollywood. "It would have been odd to have made this choice if I was able to have had successful pregnancies since my son's birth."
Sarah says she and her Inspector Gadget actor husband have explained some of the surrogacy process to their six-year-old son James Wilkie. "I've been pretty candid with him," she explains. "I wanted him to have time to adjust to the idea of sharing his mama and his papa."
