Cheryl Cole's American dream could be over

Monday March 21, 2011

There's still been no official announcement as to who will be sitting on the judging panel of the American version of The X Factor.

But it's become more and more clear that Cheryl Cole won't be among them.

Simon Cowell has stressed the importance of having plenty of American judges on the show to begin with.

"I've got to have people on the panel with me who can judge American talent because I'm 51-years-old, I'm British and we've got people as young as 14 entering this competition," he explained.

"This is an American competition for American contestants."

The voiceover man of the British show let slip backstage during the filming of a Comic Relief show that the Geordie beauty would not be involved with the American version.

According to Peter Dickinson, they had "only just decided" not to include Cheryl.

But producers of the US X Factor have denied this, saying that talks were ongoing and nothing had been set in stone yet.
