Wednesday November 21, 2012

Lenny Kravitz is lined up to play soul legend Marvin Gaye in a film biopic, according to reports.

The Are You Gonna Go My Way singer is set to take part in the movie, directed by music filmmaker Julian Temple. The film will focus on soul legend Marvin's life from 1981, when he was suffering from alcohol addiction, and how he was rescued by music promoter Freddy Cousaert and moved to his flat in Ostend, Belgium, to recover.

Marvin died in 1984, when he was shot by his own father.

Rocker-turned-actor Lenny has recently played Katniss Everdeen's stylist Cinna in The Hunger Games, but this would be the singer's first lead role.
