Tasty proposal for David Walliams' model fiancée

Friday January 22, 2010

Forget just getting down on one knee, David Walliams wanted to do something a little different when he proposed to his girlfriend, Lara Stone.

The Little Britain star popped the question to his model love by hiding an engagement ring in a cheeseburger.

David, 38, asked staff to hide the Tiffany vintage 1910-style rock inside Lara's burger as the couple enjoyed lunch together in an LA hotel," the Sun reports.

"When Lara has a burger she always lifts the top off to remove the salad, so he thought it would be a funny way to pop the question," a source said.

"David thought very carefully about how he wanted to propse. He knows her so well that he anticipated she would go through the same ritual."

Thankfully for the comedian, the Dutch beauty followed her usual routine, and found the ring.

"She burst into tears and screamed 'Yes!' when she realised what was going on.

David asked Lara, 26, to marry him following a whirlwind four-month romance.

The couple are believed to be tying the knot in the summer.
