Movie bosses want Brad Pitt's Tarantino flick re-cut

Friday May 22, 2009

The day after Brad Pitt's new film Inglorious Basterds received its world premiere at the Cannes film festival, reports have emerged that studio bosses have approached director Quentin Tarantino with a request to re-cut it.

Apparently executives want the filmmaker to restructure the film slightly, removing some and adding new footage to give viewers more information about the Basterds, a group of Jewish-American soldiers specially enlisted to target Germans in Nazi-occupied France.

"He's probably going to resist but I think he knows, deep down, that he can't release it as is," a studio source tells the Daily Mail.

By his own admission Quentin rushed the film slightly in order to get it finished for the French film festival. He apparently has hours of additional footage which ended up on the cutting room floor.
