Elton's 'Rocketman' will be 'radically different biopic'

Thursday September 22, 2011

Sir Elton John's musical biopic will be set to his greatest hits.

Steve Hamilton Shaw will be co–producing the musical with the legendary singer and David Furnish.

He told deadline.com: "Rocketman will be a radically different kind of biopic.

"It will be as unique as Elton's life".

His most famous songs are set to be used to throughout the film with choreographed sequences, highlighting the highs and lows of his career.

Earlier this year Elton revealed that the film will be "more of a fantasy – Moulin Rouge type stuff.

"Obviously, it's not going to be your normal, run–of–the–mill film. My life's been so surreal, from buying a football club to God knows what."

The producers are now at the stage of trying to find an actor for the lead role, and there is the possibility of using multiple actors to show Elton at the various stages of his life.
