Details of McQueen 'Savage Beauty' tribute revealed

Wednesday February 23, 2011

The work of the late, great Alexander McQueen is to be honoured by New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Details of the tribute, entitled Savage Beauty, were revealed by Samantha Cameron, now an ambassador for the British Fashion Council.

Drawn from the designer's archive, the exhibition will include his most impressive creations.

Joining the Prime Minister's wife was Stella McCartney.

She will host the Met's prestigious fundraiser for their annual Costume Institute exhibition with actor Colin Firth on May 2.

It's one of the Big Apple's premier gatherings, and usually gathers together supermodels and the Hollywood glitterati.
