Thursday June 23, 2011

JK Rowling has announced the nature of her highly-anticipated new project, Pottermore.

In a video released on YouTube, the Harry Potter author thanked her fans for their continued support and enthusiam for the series.

She has annouced that the Pottermore website will be an onilne experience where “fans of any age can share, participate in and rediscover the stories.”

The online community is being created as a place to put both Harry Potter digital audio books and the to-be-released eBooks.

JK has revealed that she will be sharing additional information that she’s “been hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter.”

Fans have been abuzz for the past week since a teaser for her new project was discovered on the internet.

Leading Harry Potter fansite the-leaky-cauldron.org claimed to have seen a preview of Pottermore and said it was "breathtaking".

The website will be open for all in October but there is a chance for a select few to help ‘shape the experience’ before then.

In order to become one of these few, JK, in her usual mysterious way, left fans with one clue: “Just follow the owls.”
