Underdog Wagner favourite to win 'X Factor'

Tuesday November 23, 2010

His outlandish dance routines, out of tune singing and failure to remember the words to his songs have left some questioning Wagner's continued presence on the X Factor.

But it seems the apparent underdog is actually one of the favourites, with bookmaker William Hill recently cutting his odds to win from 100/1 to 14/1.

According to reports, the 53-year-old is in the top half of the X Factor vote every week.

A Facebook group urging the public to vote for the Brazilian former PE teacher has more than 30,000 members.

One wrote: "I had never voted in any of these talent contests before but Wagner has become an anti-hero. He is everything the show doesn’t want. And that makes it funny."
