When she was first unveiled as Prince William's future bride, Kate Middleton stressed that she was willing to "learn quickly and work hard".
And judging by what happened on her first high profile public engagement with him, she has kept to her word.
Onlookers were impressed when Kate began singing the Welsh national anthem during the lifeboat naming ceremony in Anglesey.
She had learnt it especially for the occasion, and she also sang a hymn in the native language.
There were three cheers for the couple as Kate opened a bottle of champagne over the newly-minted boat.
William, who is based at nearby RAF Valley, told the crowd: "I do the talking, she does the fun bit".
