Susan Boyle finally gets her 'Perfect Day'

Friday September 24, 2010

Singing superstar Susan Boyle was apparently left devastated when she was denied permission to sing Lou Reed's Perfect Day on America's Got Talent.

But there's some good news for the Scottish artist – she's been given permission to record the track, and it will appear on her next album.

It was originally thought Lou Reed himself had turned her down. But his people said the refusal had been down to red tape – the song had not been cleared for the American market in time, and it was nothing to do with Lou.

Perfect Day will feature in Susan's new album along with cover versions of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House.

Titled The Gift, it's out on November 9.
