Kanye West has hired high-profile lawyer Shawn Holley to defend him in a civil lawsuit filed against him by a member of the paparazzi who has alleged that the rapper assaulted him.
Photographer Danial Ramos filed the lawsuit accusing the Yeezus singer of assault, battery and interference with his civil rights, in August.
However, the new dad and his lawyer strongly deny the claims and have filed documents saying that he acted in self-defence: "Daniel Ramos willfully and wrongfully caused Kanye West to reasonably believe his safety was in immediate danger."
The scuffle occurred on 19 July at Los Angeles International Airport. If found guilty, Kanye could be sentenced to up to a year in jail.
Shawn Holley has also acted as the legal representative for Lindsay Lohan in the past.
