Strictly's Anton du Beke: Judges were wrong on Jerry

Wednesday October 24, 2012

Anton du Beke is frustrated with the Strictly Come Dancing judges for not giving former supermodel Jerry Hall another chance on the dancefloor.

The duo were booted out of the ballroom after they failed to impress the judges with their dance to Simon and Garfunkel's Mrs Robinson.

Anton said that the judges failed to mark the model's progress, and seemed to focus solely on her posture.

The dancer said: "Jerry danced really well on Saturday night but the improvement she made wasn't reflected in her marks from the judges.

"Their comments were heavily weighted towards her posture - which does need work - and not the way she actually moved on the dance floor.

"The show is called Strictly Come Dancing, so you would have thought that side of things would have been considered - but apparently not." He added: "I'm not saying Jerry went from beginner to fabulous in a week but there was an improvement and I had hoped the marks would improve.

"There were no gimmicks to our routine, I didn't swing her in or drag her across the floor. We did a proper dance with depth and Jerry was quite capable."
