Newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky is reportedly set to take a 30 per cent cut of her £1 million salary so she can spend more time with her eight-month old baby Arlo.
The 36-year-old will permanently quit her 7pm slot on Five News so that she can be at home to put her new son to bed each night.
Four months after welcoming her first child with investment banker husband Justin Bower, the pretty brunette returned to work on a part-time basis, covering only her 5pm bulletin. Now the arrangement will apparently become permanent.
"She knows that she will not keep her big salary, and she is not worried about that. It's about getting the right work-life balance," a source close to the presenter says.
The former BBC journalist, who became Britain's highest-paid newsreader when she moved across to Channel Five in February 2008, sent ratings for the news programme soaring in her debut month. She increased viewing figures by an impressive 72 per cent.
