Gary Oldman awarded Best Actor for 'Tinker Tailor'

Gary Oldman has confessed some of the awards he has won are so "ugly" they never see the light of day.

The British actor collected the Best Actor award at the Jameson's Empire Film Awards 2012, for his role in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Gary said of the award: "It's one of the few that we can actually put up. Some of them, as much as I appreciate the honour, are so ugly that they have to remain in the cupboard.

"But this one, my wife can put it on her desk I think."

The 54-year-old actor also revealed he is looking forward to adopting his character’s diet again to reprise his role in the sequel to the award-winning film.

He said: "They're talking of maybe making, I suppose a sequel, but it's the third book in the trilogy, Smiley's People, and I'd be happy to come back and do it."

He added: "I get to just eat what I want and put on another tummy. It's not bad. My wife won't be happy, but I will."
