Many expected it to be cancelled after the tragic news of Michael Jackson's death, but the Hollywood premiere of Bruno went ahead last night. Just eight miles away from the king of pop's hospital, Sacha Baron Cohen's camp alter ego helped raise spirits in LA.
Dressed in military-style hat, medal-adorned waistcoat and tiny hotpants, the British funnyman was in full swing as he descended on Grauman's Chinese Theatre on a tank covered in mirror ball tiles and glitter.
It was the star's latest eye-popping launch in his role as the gay Austrian fashion designer. He's already surprised Spanish fans with his bull costume for the film's Madrid premiere, and paid tribute to Britain with and a quirky take on the Queen's Guard's uniform in London.
In attendance at the Hollywood screening of the flick - which follows the faux fashion journalist's attempts to become a Hollywood celebrity - was Sacha's leading lady Isla Fisher, and Monster actress Christina Ricci.
