Pierce Brosnan told new 007 Daniel Craig to 'go for it'

Being replaced by a younger model is not an easy situation to be in.

And Pierce Brosnan says he found it difficult when he was told his days as James Bond were over.

So difficult in fact, that he still hasn't managed to watch either of the spy films starring new Bond, Daniel Craig.

"I didn't go near it," he said, reports the Daily Express.

"I tried watching it on an aeroplane, but the DVD broke down. The attendant came and changed it and it broke down a second time so I figured: 'OK the Gods must be saying something'".

"I just thought, 'Let sleeping dogs lie," he adds.

But the actor also reveals he was very supportive of Daniel's decision to take over.

When the Quantum of Solace star reportedly approached Pierce at a party, saying: "Look, it's not on the cards but it might be. If it were on the cards, what should I do?"

Pierce simply replied: "Go for it. Just go for it."
