Duran Duran cancel gig due to Nick Rhodes' illness

Monday August 27, 2012

Duran Duran's Atlantic City gig has been cancelled after keyboardist Nick Rhodes took ill.

The musician, who has been informed by doctors he may be suffering from exhaustion, has been on the road for two years promoting the album All You Need Is Now with the chart toppers.

"I have struggled through the last few nights, hoping that I could simply work through this," Nick said. "But today I felt so unwell, I had to see a doctor.
"We absolutely hate to disappoint our incredibly loyal fans and cancel a show at the last minute, but unfortunately the doctor has strongly recommended that this is what we do on this occasion.

"So it is with enormous regret that we are unable to perform in Atlantic City tonight," he added.

Organisers at the venue, a casino called Revel, were informed of the cancellation at 7pm on the day of the concert, after many fans had already arrived.

The 5,000 seated gig may be re-scheduled in the next few days.
