Alesha Dixon on BGT switch: 'I want to try new things'

Tuesday February 28, 2012

Alesha Dixon has reportedly revealed she would have left Strictly Come Dancing even if Simon Cowell hadn't poached her for Britain's Got Talent.

The 33-year-old stepped down from the judging panel of the dance programme earlier this year and is now helping TV's Mr Nasty, comedian David Walliams and Amanda Holden to find a new star on the talent show.

She told the Daily Star: "I felt three years was a respectable amount of time. It was a fantastic experience as a contestant and as a judge, and it was time for new things.

"I don't want to be predictable. I want to try new things. I want new challenges. That's what life is all about."

Alesha said she likes that BGT "celebrates the best of British".

"This show has everything. Not only do I love dancing but I love singing, I love dancing dogs, I love comedy, I love everything entertainment.

"This is the one show that enables and encompasses all that," she added.
