Sharon scraps Strictly plans after pay reductions

Wednesday July 29, 2009

Ozzy Osbourne's fiesty wife Sharon is believed to have refused a contract to participate in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing after hearing of a substantial cut in the initial £35,000 pay.

The former X Factor judge had agreed to compete on the talent show after leaving her ITV post last year.

But, along with talk show host Richard Madeley, the 57-year-old has apparently backed out.

According to a source, Sharon said the final amount of money offered to her was "ridiculous", the Daily Mirror reports.

The celebrity competitors' costs aren't the only ones to be cut by the BBC.

Host Bruce Forsyth has taken a £160,000 reduction from his £660,000 contract, whilst on other shows, Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton have also had their salaries reduced.
