Paul McCartney: Yoko didn't split up The Beatles

Monday October 29, 2012

Music icon Sir Paul McCartney has come forward in a tell-all interview and insisted that Yoko Ono did not split up The Beatles.

The former member of the Liverpudlian four-piece spoke to David Frost in 60-minute interview about the fab four's reasons for splitting.

The 70-year-old said: "She certainly didn't break the group up. I don't think you can blame her for anything."

Sir Paul told the veteran broadcaster: "When Yoko came along, part of her attraction was her avant garde side, her view of things."

"She showed him another way to be, which was very attractive to him. So it was time for John to leave."

The exclusive interview will be broadcast on Al Jazeera English TV in November. In the programme Paul will discuss his marriages, children and The Beatles' unparalleled success.
