Unseen Beatles memorabilia up for auction

Thursday November 29, 2012

A collection of Beatles' memorabilia is expected to fetch a six figure sum next month.

The exclusive portfolio, which is owned by George Harrison's family, includes a leather jacket which George wore during his nightclub circuit stint with the fab four in Hamburg, and at Liverpool's musical treasure trove The Cavern.

Just the item of clothing alone is expected to fetch £120,000 when it goes onsale at Bonham's in London on December 12.

A pair of custom-made boots are also being sold as part of the collection, which are expected to sell for £15,000.

Arguably the jewel of the collection-- a guitar owned by fellow Beatle Paul McCartney in the 1950s-- will attract a great deal of attention, and has an estimated guide price of £30,000.
