James Corden returns to present 2013 Brit Awards

Thursday November 29, 2012

Funnyman James Corden is returning to the stage as he is set to present the 2013 Brit Awards.

Gavin And Stacey-turned-Broadway and film star James will present the ceremony for the fourth time in total, despite stirring up controversy by cutting off singing sensation Adele during her acceptance speech. After making an aggressive gesture when her thanks were abruptly ended, Adele later clarified that her anger was directed at the "suits" who had cut her speech short, and not James.

Iconic British artist Damien Hirst will also be designing the award statuette for the ceremony.

Putting preserved sharks and dead flies aside, Damien will follow the footsteps of Sir Peter Blake and Dame Vivienne Westwood in designing the award.

Brits chairman David Joseph said: "We are delighted that Damien will become the third extraordinary creative Briton to reimagine the Brit statue.

"He is truly one of the most important British artists ever and his unique vision will make winning a 2013 Brit an even more special proposition."
