There was a celebratory mood in the air in downtown Amman this week, as Queen Rania of Jordan and her husband King Abdullah helped honour inspirational citizens of their nation.
The king and queen joined 3,000 guests at a ceremony to celebrate those who had created positive lasting change in their communities. The televised event took place amidst the backdrop of the city's stunning Roman amphitheatre.
Speaking at the ceremony - part of the celebrations to commemorate the tenth anniversary of King Abdullah's rein - Rania paid tribute to her husband
"You gave us the will, energy, and power to strive for the best, to learn more, to improve ourselves, both men and women equally," said the glamorous 38-year-old royal.
