Ozzy Osbourne 'honoured' to play British festival

Monday March 31, 2014

Ozzy Osbourne has admitted to being "beyond honoured" as his band Black Sabbath have been unveiled as the headline act at this summer’s British Summer Time festival.

The British rock legends will celebrate their 50th anniversary this year and Ozzy added that it was a privilege to play in Hyde Park.

He also joked about the bands humble beginnings, spending his first advance on "a new pair of shoes and some Brut aftershave."

He added: "Returning almost 50 years on we are doing a bit better for ourselves, so I may even splash out on some new aftershave before taking to the stage at Hyde Park - the most beautiful park in London - that has opened its gates to so many legends in the past."

The British Summer Time festival will take place across 4 – 13 July and will also includes headline performances from Soundgarden and Faith No More.

"We are beyond honoured to be allowed to put on a show and hope that the royals will enjoy it", Ozzy said.
