Canadian soap fans will be thrilled to learn Ontario-born All My Children star Cameron Mathison is to display another of his talents - fancy footwork - on the new season of Dancing With The Stars.

The hunky thesp, who has played Ryan Lavery on the daytime drama since 1989, will be joining Wedding Crashers actress Jane Seymour, Spice Girl Melanie Brown and songstress Marie Osmond on the fifth season of the show beginning September 24. Other celebrity talents taking part are Las Vegas crooner Wayne Newton and Beverly Hills 90210 alumnus Jennie Garth - who follows in the footsteps of her former co-star Ian Ziering.

It won't be Cameron's first experience of a reality show, as he's currently hosting the fourth season of I Wanna Be A Soap Star.

The blue-eyed hunk certainly seems to have got lucky when it came to being allocated a partner. He'll be taking to the floor with seasoned dancer Edyta Sliwinska, the only pro to appear on all four seasons of the series.

The 38-year-old isn't the only Canadian to make their mark on the hit ballroom dance programme. It was announced this week that rocker Avril Lavigne will be appearing as a guest singer later in the season, while Dolly Parton has been signed up to perform on the first results show.
