In her first comment since leaving the country with two of the couple's children, Katie Price thanked fans for their support over her separation from Peter Andre.

The model, whose husband is reported to have initiated the split after three years of marriage, wrote: "Thank you for all your support. It means so much to me".

The 30–year-old, known also as Jordan, is now believed to be in the Maldives with three-year-old Junior and Princess Tiaamii, 23 months. Harvey, her disabled son from a previous relationship, is being cared for at his special school in Kent and by her mum, aided by a carer.

According to the Mirror the Andres have had words over the phone about these arrangements, as Katie was expecting the singer to hold the fort with Harvey while she was away.

Reports initially suggested she'd flown to Cyprus where the couple have a home, but that's where Pete has gone, seeking solace in the company of his brothers Michael and Chris.

The family is originally from the Mediterranean island, though the guys were raised in Australia.

Speaking from his home in Queensland, their dad describe mum-of-three Katie as the "perfect daughter-in-law" and predicted the pair would soon reunite.

"They love each other too much to break up for good," said 67-year-old Savvas. "I think in a month they'll be back together. I have a gut feeling about it."
