After a stormy night in eastern Argentina, the sun shone brightly on Michael Buble and Luisana Lopilato's second wedding day. On Saturday evening at 7pm, the happy couple tied the knot in a romantic religious ceremony at the historic Villa Maria, in Maximo Paz, located about an hour from Buenos Aires, the scene of their first civil marriage. Some 300 guests, including the bride and groom's parents, gathered to watch as Michael and Luisana exchanged vows in the evangelical, bilingual event.

And from 5pm, a crowd had gathered outside the venue hoping to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds.

They weren't disappointed. Shortly after tying the knot, the bride and groom came out to greet photographers and fans. It meant that the world was given its first glimpse of Luisana's beautiful white wedding gown – an exclusive design by Sylvie Burstin featuring a silk bodice and ruffled skirt.

In homage to his homeland, Michael, 35, chose a classic black tuxedo by twins Dean and Dan Caten, creators of the Canadian fashion label Dsquared2.The magnificent grounds of the Norman-Tudor style Villa – built in 1927 – proved the prefect setting for the couple's "fairytale" second nuptials.

Following the ceremony, cocktails were served by the grounds' lake, illuminated by a thousand candles.

But the bride was determined not to let the home intrusion spoil her moment. "This will not ruin the amazing moment that I experienced yesterday," she later tweeted.

Clearly delighted to be marrying Michael, whom she describes as "the love of my life", Luisana's happiness on her special day threatened to be marred by the news that, while celebrating at the reception, her parents' house was burgled.

The marquee was decorated with white flowers especially brought in from Colombia and Ecuador and featured a huge bronze-covered dance floor, over which hung 14 chandeliers, and mirrors used for tables.

Guests were then invited inside an opulent, carpeted 50-metre tent for further post-wedding celebrations, which went on until dawn the following morning.
