Internet wunderkind Mark Zuckerberg changed his relationship status to married on Saturday after tying the knot with his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan.
The creator of Facebook, 28, and Priscilla exchanged vows at a small ceremony in their backyard attended by less than 100 guests in Palo Alto, California.
The ceremony took place just a day after Mark took his company public.
The guests invited had no idea about the wedding until they arrived at the couple's home.
They thought they had been invited to a surprise graduation party for the bride, who received a degree in pediatrics from UCSF medical school on May 14.
However, the newlyweds had been planning the event for more than four months, according to People.
Mark designed his wife's wedding ring, a simple ruby sparkler, himself.
Guests were treated to food from the couple's favorite restaurants, Palo Alto Sol and Fuki Sushi.
For dessert, they had Burdick Chocolate "mice" – whimsical chocolate treats made in the shape of mice – which the couple had on their first date.
The couple, who met while attending Harvard before Mark – who is now worth more than $19 billion – started Facebook, have been dating for nine years.
