One of Hollywood's cutest couples have gone their separate ways. Michelle Williams and Jason Segel have broken up, quietly ending their relationship earlier this month, according to reports. It seems that distance was the deciding factor. Michelle lives in Brooklyn with her seven-year-old daughter Matilda, while Jason primarily resides in Los Angeles where he films his CBS series, How I Met Your Mother.
They began dating in March 2012 and managed to maintain a relatively low-profile throughout their romance. Jason was Michelle's most serious boyfriend since the death of Heath Ledger in 2008. And he clearly developed a strong bond with the late actor's daughter; the 33-year-old was often pictured playing with Matilda and escorting both his girls around town. The couple initially avoided confirming their relationship, even when Jason was spotted with a picture of Michelle and the words 'I Heart U' taped on the back on his phone.He later did, telling Extra, "I think we would just very much like to be happy. That's all I'm going to say about it."
The public got 100 per cent behind the adorable couple, and just recently Michelle, 32, revealed how much she cherished that support. "If people are happy about it that makes me feel good," she told In Style. "Any kind of sentiment that the world can feed back, well, I won't turn it down."
