While supermodel and mum of four Heidi Klum made the most of her special day to relax and soak up the sun, sharing a pic of her in a bikini with a glass of wine on what she called the "Best Mother's Day ever...", Barack Obama showed his more than 31 million Twitter followers who his favourite mum is.

"You showed me real strength, how to be independent, how to love and be loved, not to judge people or their situations, how to forgive, how to learn from every mistake I make, how to be hospitable, how to do my makeup, cook, clean, not to lower my standards for anything or anyone!" wrote the Diamonds singer.
"I am who I am because that's all I've known!! Thank you for all that you've endured to make sure I got here, with a smile!! I could never repay you, you're PRICELESS!!! My gem!!! #mommy #happymothersday #mamasgal #mynumber1".
Hollywood actress Evan Rachel Wood, currently expecting her first child, also sent some cyber appreciation to her mum. "Happy mothers day to my mom, who after carrying my little one around for months, i have a whole new respect for. Thanks for carrying me :)".
