The leading ladies of the Tony Awards

Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller were just two of Hollywood's actresses that turned heads when they walked down the red carpet at Sunday's Tony Awards in New York City. Scarlett, envied for her womanly curves and full lips, stepped out in an all-black ensemble. The Avengers star looked typically sexy in a short black Saint Laurent dress with a sheer leopard print neckline, matched with a black tuxedo jacket and pointed heels. The 28-year-old actress struck a series of smouldering poses with her trademark pout.

Despite winning a Tony Award in 2010 for her Broadway debut in A View from the Bridge, Scarlett did not receive any nominations for this year's performance as stunning Southern belle Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Showing she was no sore loser, she happily presented an award with Scottish-American actor Alan Cumming and later signed a clock alongside other celebrities. Sienna Miller arrived to the star-studded event looking pretty in pink, on fiancé Tom Sturridge's arm. The English actress chose a strapless Burberry dress for the occasion and accentuated her fairy-like look with a dainty head scarf that kept her blonde locks in place. Throughout the night, Sienna showed her support for beau Tom, who was nominated for his role in Orphans but missed out to Tracy Letts.

The couple were accompanied by Tom's mother, stage actress Phoebe Nicholls, who is close to her future daughter-in-law. The two ladies were spotted shopping at a flea market the day before the Awards, with Sienna and Tom's adorable baby daughter Marlowe. Sienna reportedly forgot Father's Day was coming up, which will be Marlowe's first, but wasn't short of touching last minute ideas. "I will have to do something magical," she said. "I'll probably make a mug with my baby's handprint on it for my husband-to-be." Another Broadway beauty that graced the red carpet was Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick, who dazzled in a strapless Donna Karan Atelier dress and Christian Louboutin heels. She accessorised with Amrapali jewelry and an Edie Parker clutch, and radiated her evening look with smokey eye make-up and hair swept up in an elegant do.

Anna was accompanied by her brother for the night, and joked in a tweet, "Basically as long as I have my fancy hair, my big brother cannot put me in a headlock. #TONYs." She presented an award with Cuba Gooding Junior to Andrea Martin of Pippin. Jake Gyllenhaal also played a part in the ceremony and gave Patina Miller her award for best performance by a leading actress. Jake arrived looking dapper as usual in a black tuxedo and elegant bow tie, happily posing for photographers and signing autographs for excited fans.
