'He was loved by millions': tributes pour in for Only Fools and Horses star Roger Lloyd-Pack

Sir David Jason led the hordes of tributes that flooded in for Only Fools and Horses star, Roger Lloyd-Pack, who died of pancreatic cancer on 15 January at the age of 69."I was very saddened to hear of Roger's passing," said David, who starred alongside the actor in the BBC sitcom for 18 years. "He was a very quiet, kind and unassuming actor who was a pleasure to work with. "Although he played the simple soul of Trigger in Only Fools And Horses, he was a very intelligent man and a very fine actor capable of many roles," he added. "I shall remember him with fondness and for all the good times we had together."

"I'm so saddened to hear about Roger," said Nicholas Lyndhurst, who played Rodney Trotter in Only Fools. "He was the most accomplished actor and loved by millions, I will miss him greatly. "Roger's agent Maureen Vincent confirmed that the actor "died at home surrounded by his family"."I spoke to Roger two days ago," said the father-of-four's friend and co-star, John Challis. "Roger said it was a bit awkward to talk at that particular moment. It is very sad and very distressing. "My thoughts are with his family," he added. "He was a remarkable man and he'll be missed. Roger is irreplaceable. It's a very sorry day." 

Born in Islington, North London, in 1944, Roger became a household favourite through his role as Trigger in Only Fools."People will never stop shouting 'Trigger!' at me in the street," he said in an interview with The Guardian in 2012. "The other day I jumped some lights on my bike because someone was hollering at me. A police van pulled me over, and when I stopped they also shouted 'Trigger!'"In later years Roger starred as Owen Newitt in The Vicar of Dibley and Barty Crouch in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.He leaves behind his wife Jehane Markham and their four children Emily, Spencer, Hartley and Louis.
