Cheryl’s much-anticipated musical comeback appears to be imminent! The former Girls Aloud singer – who has taken a four-year break from singing - was pictured in a new photo on social media on Thursday with X Factor winners Rak-Su and Naughty Boy, who posted the image on his Instagram account. The caption teased Cheryl’s return further, saying: "SQUAD @raksuraksu @cherylofficial #fblock #naughty #music #watchthisspace." Fans were quick to comment on the photo in anticipation, with one writing: "Absolutely LOVE this," while another said: "Can't wait to hear the song." A third added: OMG! So excited for this!!"

The photo comes after Naughty Boy revealed that he had spoken to Cheryl at a party hosted by X Factor judge Simon Cowell, and that the pair had talked about collaborating together in the future. Naughty Boy told The Sun: "Cheryl spoke to me at one of Simon Cowell's recent parties about doing something together and a future collaboration. I have actually got a song written for her now, so we will see what happens." Cheryl, meanwhile, has previously admitted that she was a fan of Rak-Su while they were on the X Factor. The Fight for this Love singer last released an album in 2014, and has since gone on to welcome her first child with partner Liam Payne - a son named Bear - who was born in March 2017.

Cheryl has taken a break from music to spend time with her son

Cheryl previously opened up on Lorraine about her decision to take a break from music, explaining: "It has been so long, my fans are very patient. I am receiving songs and music and stuff at the moment. I've got the luxury of being able to spend time with my newborn child and I'm going to take that for what it is. A lot of mothers have to rush back after giving birth. I don't think it's fair." A source confirmed that Cheryl would focus on her music this year, telling The Sun Online: "Cheryl is back in the studio and music is her main priority for 2018."
