Following the sad news of Timmy Matley's death on Wednesday, fans of The Overtones singer have taken to his JustGiving page to donate money. The 36-year-old - who was battling skin cancer - was due to skydive out of a plane to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity on 3 May, and the page has now raised over £1,000 more than his £5,000 target. Timmy had set up the page last year, revealing his plans to jump 15,000 feet to raise money for the charity that was "very close to my heart".

Timmy was tragically diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma – a form of skin cancer – in 2016 after finding a lump in his underarm. He recalled on the page that it had been a "very frightening and scary time" for both him and his family, and heartbreakingly still, he admitted that he was "afraid of dying". The star revealed that apart from the lump, he had no other symptoms, and that after initial treatment and surgery, he was then told that the cancer had reached stage four.

Having started treatment in March 2017 with The Royal Marsden, Timmy wrote that his initial test results had been positive, and that most of his cancer was in regression. The star said that he had been incredibly grateful to everyone who had given him treatment and wanted to help them continue their research so that they could help others.
