According to Forbes, Kim Kardashian surpassed a net worth of $1billion in 2021. The TV star and business owner is now estimated to be worth around $1.2billion.

Much of Kim's fortune comes from the reality TV star's recent business ventures, such as her Skims shapeware collection, and her makeup and skincare companies.

From 2017 to 2021, the 42-year-old was in charge of cosmetics and fragrance brand KKW. But in 2021 she shut down this brand and launched a skincare brand, SKNN by Kim in its place.

Fans believe the reality TV star's decision to move on from her earlier brand may have been related to her divorce from her then-husband, Kanye West, whose name she had taken, and which had influenced her brand's name – KKW (Kim Kardashian West).

In 2022, Kim ranked as number 18 on Forbes' America's Richest Self-Made Women list. Her sister, Kylie Jenner, also owns a makeup company and is widely predicted to become the world's "youngest ever self-made billionaire". She ranked 41st on the list in 2022, so is yet to threaten Kim's place as the richest Kardashian family member.

Kim Kardashian - friend turned rival turned friend again of heiress Paris Hilton - first hit headlines in 2007 when a sex tape that involved her and her ex-boyfriend Ray J was leaked on the internet. Later that year, Kim and her family began to appear in the ongoing hit E! television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

While it is impossible to know for certain how much Kim Kardashian makes each month, given that her estimated yearly earnings are around $70million, we can assume she makes around $6million per month. However, the nature of Kim's wealth being based on business and self-made stardom means she likely earns very varied amounts every month.

Kim's social media presence plays a huge part in her fortune. With over 351 million followers on her Instagram (@kimkardashian), she really doesn't need to worry about wasting money on marketing her brand!

The self-made billionaire also posts sponsored photos to her Instagram. In 2017, Michael Heller, CEO of the digital marketing firm Talent Resources – the same firm that arranges most of the Kardashian family's deals and endorsements – told Us Weekly that Kim charged up to $500,000 per post in that year.
