Pop rocker Dougie Poynter has been crowned king of the jungle on this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! He beat The Only Way Is Essex's Mark Wright to win the hit ITV show. The 24-year-old star was shell-shocked to learn he had taken the throne, saying: "I'm lost for words, my mouth is so dry."

"These have been the best couple of weeks of my life, I wish everybody in the world could experience that." Despite losing out, runner up Mark had nothing but kind words for his pal Dougie. "There couldn't be a better winner than this man here.""He deserves it so much, he is the nicest guy in the whole world." he said.

The pair, who are both Essex boys and share the same age, steered their common ground to a firm friendship after bonding during their fortnight of jungle fever, even jokingly forming a "bro-mance". On their last day together, the unlikely couple took part in one final Bushtucker trial to win points for a slap-up feast of their choice. After eating delicacies from creepy crawlies, they were finally rewarded with healthy servings of pizza, lasagne and chocolate brownies. As the pair bedded down for a final night under the stars, Mark became emotional, saying: "I couldn't wish to share the night with anyone else, Dougie is a special person."
