Luckily the actress, who shed a tear during her acceptance speech, was supported by the two leading men in her life – her father John and her boyfriend Justin Theroux. The pair have kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight over the past nine months, but Jennifer couldn't resist giving her beau a kiss. And there was also a peck on the cheek for her dad, who proudly looked on beside Justin.

Days of Our Lives star John – who was born on the Greek island of Crete – has in the past said he would love Jennifer to settle down with a nice Greek boy. But he has been won over by Jen's American boyfriend, saying: "He's a charming young man" and "they make a wonderful couple".The 78-year-old actor also revealed he and his wife get together with the cute couple whenever they can.

Jennifer is clearly in a great place right now. Of her star honour, the 43-year-old said: "It probably wasn't even a dream, it was one of my wildest dreams. "I don't think that I ever even thought that this would be here, this day. So I am utterly humbled and grateful." Jennifer, pretty in a patterned Tom Ford dress, was joined by her Her Just Go With It co-star Adam Sandler, who couldn't resist making some wisecracks. "She prayed for three things: to have everyone in the entire world be fascinated with her hair, to one day star in a movie about an evil leprechaun who kills people," he said – referring to her little-known role in 1993 horror film Leprechaun. "And most importantly, receive a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well, today, Jennifer, the trifecta is here."
