Dame Judi Dench literally sparkled on the red carpet for the premiere of the eagerly awaited new Bond film Skyfall.

The 77-year-old acting legend sported a unique Swarovski crystal tattoo on the right-hand-side of her neck as she stepped out for the film's launch, which sees her reprise her role as MI6 secret service boss, M.

Whilst Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall added a regal touch to the lavish event, held at London's Royal Albert Hall, Dame Judi flew the flag for Hollywood royalty. Not to be outdone by latest Bond girls Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe, who both looked glamorous, Judi proved she was as stylish as ever in a sleek silver gown and coat which perfectly matched her glittering accessory.

This is not the first time Judi  has honoured her involvement with the 007 franchise in this way. In 2008 she revealed a similar replica of the logo, in a daring red colour, on the back of her neck for the launch of 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace. In 2005, Judi also sported a temporary tattoo that read "Judi loves Harvey" after landing her fifth Oscar nomination for Harvey Weinstein's production Mrs. Henderson Presents.

Of her five nominations for the coveted award, Judi has won it once. In 1999 she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes in Shakespeare in Love. Judi was rewarded for her outstanding performance as Queen Elizabeth I in the film that also took the title of Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Original Screenplay.

And another Oscar could be on the cards following her seventh performance as M in Skyfall. Critics and directors alike have called for Yorkshire-born Judi to be nominated once again. It would add to her ever growing lost of accolades - in her 53-year-long career the septuagenarian has also been given an OBE and was made a Dame in 1988.In the latest James Bond adventure, M enjoyed a more high profile role than that of the previous films. The plot of Skyfall raises questions whether or not she is still able to do her job. Secrets about M's past come to light which mean Bond, played by British actor Daniel Craig, finds his loyalty tested.

Her prestigious titles did not stop her having fun at the premiere and wearing the Austrian crystal company's temporary tattoo. Swarovski also featured in the film itself, as it was revealed in October that they created the 60,000 crystals that adorn a dress worn by Berenice Marlohe, whose character is called Severine.

Designer Stephen Webster, who commissioned by the brand, spoke about his involvement in the film's partnership. He commented that "without question, collaborating with Swarovski on the jewellery for Skyfall has been exciting from the word go." Adding: "the themes in the film seem to fit perfectly with the design aesthetic of the jewellery I create, and the many creative meetings at Pinewood Studios between Swarovski, ourselves, and the Bond team have only added to our enthusiasm for the project."
