Claire Danes and her baby bump revel in Golden Globe nomination

With a Golden Globe nomination in the bag and her baby on the way Claire Danes certainly has reason to smile. The actress, who stars in hit TV show Homeland, was spotted strolling the streets of New York on Thursday, the day the nominations were announced.Claire wrapped up against the cold in a green parka coat with a cosy faux-fur lined hood. The Little Women star also wore blue jeans and some seasonal brown boots as she chatted to a friend.

Manhattan-born Claire is currently expecting her first baby with British husband Hugh Dancy, although the star has kept details about her son or daughter-to-be firmly under wraps. Appearing on American chat show Live! With Kelly and Michael, the actress said she was "feeling good and balanced" about becoming a mum for the first time.However, she refused to go into details about the child's gender. She quipped : "It is a human being, which is a profound relief. "Claire and fellow actor Hugh tied the knot back in 2009. Known for their down-to-earth relationship and low-key lifestyle, the pair married in an intimate ceremony in front of close friends and family.

Thirty-three-year-old Claire and Hugh, 37, have previously spoken about how they fell in love during a game of Scrabble while filming Evening, in 2007.Homeland, which has taken the entertainment world by storm, has earned a nomination for Best TV Drama Series. The crime thriller is up against Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, The Newsroom and Britain's own Downton Abbey. This is not the first time the two shows have come up against each-other for an award. In September ITV's costume drama went head-to-head with the multi-nominated show. And whilst Dame Maggie Smith's role as the Dowager Countess earned her the title of Best Supporting Actress Homeland stole the show, winning the title of Outstanding Drama Series.

Damian Lewis took also took trophy for his role as Nicholas Brody and was crowned Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, pipping Downton star Hugh Bonneville to the post.

Claire was also recognised for her performance as bipolar CIA agent Carrie Mathison and successfully won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series despite fierce competition from the likes of Glenn Close and Michelle Dockery.

With such a good track record Homeland will hope to triumph once again when the Golden Globes take place on January 13.
