Victoria Beckham reveals a personal chef helps her balance family and career

Victoria Beckham has revealed that a personal chef keeps her family eating healthily, as she juggles her commitments as a mum of four and a successful fashion designer.

Victoria and her husband David employ as many as five members of staff, including a nanny and a housekeeper, to help at home.

Speaking to Australian Vogue, the former Spice Girl has explained that she is a 'hopeless cook', despite the efforts of her friends Tana and Gordon Ramsay, and that the family chef cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Beckham brood three days a week.

The chef, named Chris, even makes gourmet meals for when he's not there to prepare fresh dishes – the food is popped into the freezer for Victoria to whip out at her own convenience.

The mother to Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, Cruz, eight, and Harper, two, said that she is in her South London studio at 9am each morning, after waking up at 6am and working out before starting the school run at 8am.

She said: "I don't want people to think I'm moaning. I wake up every morning and think how lucky I am. I'm like a child. I need to know exactly where I’ll be and what I'm going to be doing.

"Some days are better than others, but right now I feel guilty because I'm working instead of putting Harper to sleep.

"Victoria, who has previously spoken about her struggle to balance her family with her career, opened up during a photoshoot in the UK for Vogue Australia, insisting that her family are just like any other.

"By the time Brooklyn's finally gone to bed, it's all I'm fit for," she said. "Really, we're much more normal than people think.

"She also talked about the next phase for the Beckhams, now that her husband David has retired from football. "We're all so proud of David," she said.

"Having supported him at clubs all over the world for the past 15 years and seen how he has been an inspiration not just to me and the children but also to millions of people, we are now just really excited at the prospect of spending more time as a family.

"Following the shoot, the designer had to jet off to Brooklyn's school for parents' evening via helicopter, as she was determined not to miss the chance to chat to her eldest son's teachers.
